Boehner Calls Impeachment Talk Democratic 'Scam'

Source: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/boehner-c

House Speaker John Boehner (BAY'nuhr) says the House has no plans to impeach President Barack Obama. He says talk of impeachment is all a scam by Democrats at the White House.

Boehner says Democrats are trying to rally their supporters ahead of November's mid-term elections to give money and show up to vote.

Some Republicans have said Obama would open the door to impeachment if he takes steps to end deportations of large numbers of immigrants here illegally, as the White House is contemplating. Other Republicans, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, already are calling for Obama to be impeached.

The conservative impeachment crusade is metastasizing thus -- Rich Lowry at National Review:

Does Obama WANT to Get Impeached?

...The White House may consider the unilateral amnesty a winning move on several different levels: it gets its policy goal; it satisfies an important part of its base; and if there is any serious move toward impeachment, it rallies the entirety of the Democratic base in a way we haven’t seen since 2008 and — assuming the politics of impeachment are bad for Republicans — drives the middle away from the GOP. An administration that is fast entering its dotage could consider this one of the few potential positive game-changers that it has direct control over — the Constitution and the rule of law be damned.

Rep. Scalise Calls Out Obama: ‘First White House In History Trying To Start Narrative Of Impeachment’

Glenn Beck:

“Who wants (impeachment)? The president does,” Beck argued. “Because then he’ll be able to say, ‘I demand justice.’ The birther thing is over, the Black thing is over. So now he needs to be able to call for justice.”

Etc. etc. etc.

Rep. Kerry Bentivolio told constituents at a town hall Monday that it would be a “dream come true” to write a bill to impeach President Barack Obama, but so far he doesn’t have enough evidence.

Texas Republican Rep. Bill Flores said at a town hall forum Thursday that if the House of Representatives had an impeachment vote, President Obama would be impeached. Flores said such a vote would be futile because it would fail in the Senate.

And Rep. Pete Olson (R-Texas) told Think Progress on Thursday that House Republicans have discussed impeachment “a little bit” if the debt ceiling is raised without congressional consent

Ever since long before President Obama got elected in 2008, Republican politicians and their gullible minions always love to talk impeachment of Obama.

Democratic scam? This is the reason why Boehner is considered as the historically worst speaker of house. Terrible. Embarrassing. Ineptitude. Incompetent.

The Republicans are playing a balancing act here. If they tick-off their Tea Party pro-impeachment fringe, they risk a revolt and even a possible breaking away of the Tea Party in some regions. If they make themselves appear to be of a like mind with the Tea Party fringe they risk losing key votes in swing states needed to win a majority in the senate.

The bottom line is, they have to win over the swing state voters in key states to win back the senate. That's really their top priority this year.

It's looking like all the Tea Party is going to be getting this year is a fake plastic carrot on a stick, and the Republican leaders wearing shirts pointing to them saying "I'm not with stupid."

31. Allen West: Obama Impeachment Should 'Absolutely' Be On The Table
Tue Jul 29, 2014, 03:03 PM
Jul 2014
Former Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) said he "absolutely" agrees that all options -- including impeachment -- should be on the table for President Barack Obama following a wave of scandals in Washington.

In an interview with Florida-based blog The Shark Tank, West said he agrees with comments made by Rep. Trey Radel (R-Fla.) in January. Radel, speaking out against Obama's executive actions on gun violence, said impeachment should be considered.

“It is one of those times in our history, we are at this breaking point,” Radel said. “We have completely lost our checks and balances in this country, the Congress needs to hold the president accountable for the decisions that he’s making right now, and that's why again, I would say that all options should be on the table.”

West said Radel was "absolutely right," and cited the September 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, as reason enough for impeachment.

"We did something that is the most heinous thing that could ever happen, we abandoned Americans while they were under attack," West said. "You know that’s right up there to ask someone, maybe you should not be the President. Guess what? Richard Nixon stepped down over breaking and entering."

West isn't the only politician who's called to impeach Obama. Below, a slideshow of others who have made similar statements:
