outcome. The idea of a disassociated institution taking charge is a good move but I have a hard time putting any more faith in the abilities of the FBI than any local LEO. I am as much if not more a victim of the PR campaign that has sold the FBI as the penultimate law enforcement agency.
Too many years of evidence indicate that the professionalism and proficiency of the FBI is more myth than fact.

Even when they refuse to look into something it has the impact of legitimizing wrong-doing.

I would rather trust the city(St Louis Metro) cops. But FBI is better. Local news here, Springfield, MO., is already stating that the kid was trying to get the cops gun. This has to be propaganda from STL county. Naturally, the locals here(rural MO) believe anything the cops are saying. sad

a sweeping generalization. Living just about 15 minutes from the area in question. I think the immediate move to pass the investigation to St. Louis County Police was a good and wise one. There are all sorts of stories circulating in the media, some of which might actually include some facts, but I will await the results of the investigation prior to drawing any conclusions. A rush to judgement serves no one's best interest.

The FBI should have been on the Trayvon Martin case once the Sanford cops dragged their feet for a whole week and only started to investigate when the national media all came to town...

They have concluded that 100% of law enforcement officers involved acted accordingly 100% of the time. They're perfect.
