Curtis strikes populist theme in Senate campaign

HELENA, Mont. (AP) Amanda Curtis is framing her campaign for U.S. Senate as one that will champion the working class.
The Democrat says November's election will not be about which political party controls the Senate, but whether it will be controlled by the middle class or millionaires.
She put Republican opponent Rep. Steve Daines on the side of the latter.
The 34-year-old teacher was chosen Saturday as the Democrats' replacement candidate for Sen. John Walsh, who dropped out. Curtis has little political experience, but she is touting that and her working-class roots in Butte as assets.

(47,953 posts)Since she is such a long shot, she has no reason to play it safe and be a team player. Expose the lies, lay bare the republican agenda, even where it has been adopted by the national Democratic Party. I hope she does this.
People are always citing polls that say that most Americans support liberal principles. Let's see.
