Rep. Mike Honda attacks Ro Khanna as race tightens

Source: SF Chronicle

With his 20-point June primary lead dwindling, Rep. Mike Honda of San Jose is going on the attack against his opponent, fellow Democrat Ro Khanna of Fremont.

Honda’s new television ad hit the airwaves this week, slamming Khanna as the tool of the “billionaires, right-wing activists (and) corporate interests” who the incumbent says are funding his campaign.

“With Ro Khanna, it’s all about the money and never about us,” the narrator intones.

“We’re trying to make the choice clear between Congressman Honda ... and Ro Khanna by pointing to all the conservative positions he has taken,” said Vivik Kembaiyan, a spokesman for Honda’s campaign. “It’s a way for us to fight back.”

You and I could run for the same seat as Democrats and if we're the two top vote getters in the primary, we move to the GE and the pukes have no one

I'm glad Honda is going on the offensive. Due to going to Netroots in San Jose a couple of years ago, I got on Khanna's press release list. The stream of sleaze has been intense.

That really says all that needs to be said about where Khanna's loyalties truly lie. He might be running as a Democrat, but he's no Democrat.
