George P. Bush: 'I'm Not A Scientist' When It Comes To Climate Change
Source: Huffington Post
WASHINGTON - George P. Bush -- son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, nephew of former President George W. Bush and grandson of former President George H.W. Bush -- is the latest member of his famous family to get national attention, with a feature news spot on ABC News Sunday.
George P. Bush is currently running for Texas land commissioner, but the story focused on his 2016 intentions. Bush has been lauded in other news stories for departing from his Republican counterparts on issues like climate change. But in the ABC News segment, he deployed a line many of his GOP colleagues have used this year to deflect questions about whether climate change is caused by the burning of fossil fuels: "I'm not a scientist
"
ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl acknowledged in the segment that Bush "attempts to stake out a middle ground on climate change
well, sort of." Said Bush:
The Texas coastline is impacted by rising sea levels. And again, the question is whether or not that's man-made, and I'll leave that to the scientists. But at least in Texas, the facts showed that on average about 17 feet of wet beach is lost due to coastal erosion and so.

The stupid and evil runs in the family. The guy who used to call himself "Ricky Martin Bush" is no exception.

Maybe a follow-up with, "Yes, but have you done any reading or research on the subject?"
Or "Do you know what a feedback loop is?"
Or "I understand that you are not a scientist, but as an elected official do you not have an obligation to educate yourself on the subject?"
Farkin whooers.

(296,820 posts)'I accept that man-made climate change is real, but if I say so I will be run out of town by a bunch of fringe elements,' " he said. "So I am just going to pretend likeI don't knowI can't read."
"I mean, I'm not a scientist either, but I've got this guy, John Holdren, he's a scientist. I've got a bunch of scientists at NASA and I've got a bunch of scientists at EPA."
"I'm not a doctor either, but if a bunch of doctors tell me that tobacco can cause lung cancer then I'll say, 'OK!' It's not that hard."
This goes with my reply on this.. down thread.

(51,280 posts)It would seem that Noelle was also arrested in Flagstaff, Arizona for shoplifting in 1995. Her brother, George P. Bush, was busted for burglary and criminal mischief in 1994, and her other brother, Jeb Jr., was cited for sexual misconduct on October 2, 2000, in a shopping center parking lot. Knowing that the apples don't fall far from the tree, we must look to the parents of these wayward children.
Their mother, Columba Gallo Bush, was fined for smuggling clothing and jewelry into the United States after a $19,000 Parisian shopping spree. A cursory search on Jeb Bush showed that marital fidelity was not his strong suit. Seems that he really really liked a lady named Cynthia Henderson. They were the talk of the town after several of Florida's major newspapers broke the story.
A lack of "family values" is not, however, limited to the Bush clan in Florida. Last year, there were twin troubles in Texas. Jenna Bush had her day in court on May 16 for underage possession of alcohol. Experimentation with alcohol netted her eight hours of community service and 6 hours of anti-drinking lectures. Being lightly tapped on the shoulder did not appear to deter Jenna. On May 29 (a mere eight days later), Jenna and her twin sister, Barbara, were arrested for attempting to purchase alcohol and possession of fraudulent identification.

(81,107 posts)SOMEBODY clearly sent a blast-blog around or whatever they're called now - to instruct all these assholes how to respond when ANYTHING global warming comes up and confronts them. Notice how they're all saying the same thing in response - "I'm not a doctor..." or "I'm not a scientist..." And doesn't it follow then, if that is a given, then they should just simply S.T.F.U. about it?
It's just amazing the way all the little sheep in the GOP so dutifully follow the same script. You pull the same string in their necks, and you get the same cloned, xeroxed, prefabricated and prerecorded automated response. It's like they're all a bunch of obedient, well-programmed little robots. I half expect to see a key in their backs. I used to suspect there was one in the back of dan quayle - in the wooden way he moved and gestured at the podium, and cocked and/or moved his head in various deliberate and robotic ways. There was all kinds of body language like that from him. You could almost hear the gears grind every time any part of him moved. I always wondered who was in charge of the wind-up key.

The Smoking Gun
So George P. Bush--son of Jeb and the political dynastys fourth generation standout--is making his Washington, D.C. debut this week. The 37-year-old lawyer is now running for Texas land commissioner, but his family reportedly expects bigger things from the telegenic offspring of the former Florida governor.
Which is as good an excuse as any to revisit a police report detailing George P.s creepy, stalkerish behavior towards a former girlfriend.
Back when he was a Rice University student, Bush was investigated for burglary and criminal mischief related to a 4 AM visit to the Miami home of his ex, Cristina Cohen, and her parents.
A Miami-Dade Police Department report includes an account of the December 31, 1994 incident provided to cops by Murry Cohen, Cristinas father.
According to Cohen, Bush--wearing black shorts and no shirt--arrived at the residence and went to his daughters bedroom window, pulled it open, and pushed the screen inward. As Bush was climbing in the window, Murry Cohen awoke and spotted the trespasser. A neighbor of the Cohens also spotted Bush trying to get into the residence and began to argue with him.
With his intrusion thwarted, Bush backed out of the window. Cohen reported seeing Bush then jump into a vehicle and flee. But he would not be gone for long.

(35,693 posts)It is so rampant that it seems they are teaching this in Republican Candidate School 101.
But pubbies have been called out on it effectively so one with think that George P. Bush's handlers (you know he has them) would have clued him in that this response is only going to bring ridicule.
