Outside groups make ‘mockery’ of W.Va. House elections, complaint says

Source: Charleston Gazette

A Democratic operative filed an election complaint Thursday against the National Association for Gun Rights, alleging the group was making a “mockery” of West Virginia’s election laws.

Last week, the gun-rights organization distributed a political mailer that attacked House 13th District Josh Martin. The direct-mail piece displayed a photograph of Martin’s late father, Delegate Dale Martin, who died three years ago.

The election complaint alleges the National Association for Gun Rights has failed to file any campaign finance and electioneering reports with Secretary of State Natalie Tennant’s office. The group has targeted Martin and at least nine other candidates running for House seats.

The mailers allege the Democrats refuse to support “pro-gun” measures and didn’t return a candidate survey. The House candidates say they never received a copy of the survey from the National Association for Gun Rights.

Since our state GOP has no infrastructure, they have to rely on shady outside operations to do their dirty work. It used to only extend to the bigger offices, but now it takes place on the House level, too.

Thanks, Citizens United!

elections for the last several years--even local school board elections. It will only get worse as long as money speaks and they have the ability to spread lies and misinformation. And yes, the Citizen United decision is the head of the 'fish rots from the head down' mantra.

rip out the heart of democracy, was that not clear enough lately as displayed by the teabagger/fascist ebola governors?

Do not question authority, or else....we got these guys with guns and ad money....fascism perfected.

Except for those fucking elections and fucking voters.

Will someone other than comment posters, in the not quite mass media, please fucking point out the creeping fascism before it is too late?

Political leaders laughing and mocking a citizen, who is told to shut up and sit down airing legitimate complaints, by a fucking asshole of a semi-human whose only remaining gluttony is power...in a democracy you can do that.

Political leaders mocking and imprisoning a citizen standing up for their legitimate right to due process in the face of a phantom fear ginned up by these very same monsters....only the fucking vote stands in the way.
