After Kaci Hickox wins court reprieve, LePage says he doesn’t trust her
Source: Bangor Daily News

Gov. Paul LePage expressed disappointment with the judges decision Friday, saying the state would nonetheless abide by law.
Shes violated every promise shes made so far, so I cant trust her, he said Friday, answering reporters questions after a press conference celebrating a business opening in Yarmouth. I dont trust her.
Shortly after Fridays court order was publicly released, two state police troopers who had been stationed outside Hickoxs Fort Kent home to monitor her movements drove away.
In his order, LaVerdiere noted the irrational fears of Ebola and misconceptions, misinformation, bad science and bad information being spread from shore to shore in our country about the virus. While writing that those fears remain unfounded, LaVerdiere urged Hickox to demonstrate her full understanding of human nature and the real fear that exists.

I was worried about Ms. Hickox before Le Penguin said anything.

(7,908 posts)come into play, one would think, although the Constitution narrowly prohibits only the legislature, not the executive, from such actions.
I think a law suit against LePage for defamation and slander would do wonders to focus his mind. Or maybe not.
Is that your creation?

(36,437 posts)She puts up with no guff from Christie, no guff from Cuomo, no guff from that half-wit LePage. Fuck you, and you, and you. In the process, she flips off all the anti-science panic-mongers in the country: fuck you, too, you know-nothing motherfuckers. One of the primary ways ebola panic has been staunched in the last few days is through Ms. Hickox's courage and attitude - she's doing a public service in the meanwhile. That it drives the panic-mongers absolutely batshit crazy is just an added bonus.
I LOVE IT!!!!

They seem to think they have all the rights in the world (and we have none).

(21,741 posts)Wouldn't the arresting officers also need to be quarantined? How about the personnel at the jail? Wouldn't they need a special quarantine section to keep her? And how about the other prisoners? And she is living with her boyfriend, surely he is now a contamination risk. Along with her lawyer, her family and anyone else she has come into possible contact with. And now we would have to branch out into those families and everyone they might have come into contact with. That opens up another whole set of contacts that need to be quarantined.
If there are indeed only six degrees of separation, how long before Kevin Bacon is quarantined?
