One World Trade Center opens today
Source: CNN
One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, is open for business.
The building opens Monday, when the first tenant, Conde Nast, moves in. The publisher moves its 3,400 staffers into the 24 stories it is occupying, from floor 20 through 44.
One World Trade Center is opening 13 years after its predecessor was destroyed on September 11.
There are several buildings at the site. But the centerpiece is the One World Trade Center, a skyscraper that is 104 stories and 1,776 feet tall, a height that represents the year of United States independence. This includes the 408 foot spire atop the 1,368 foot tower.

(18,124 posts)I made a statement. You word police, telling people what to do. You're a HUGE laugh. 9/11 is the reason for all the militarized police forces. Bush the lessor and cheney, behind lies that got us into a war, created the RW fascist mania running rampant in this culture depriving citizens of the vote and their lives. And I'm also one of those that are still not convinced as to who and why 9/11 happened. How's that for owned. And I don't care if you don't like that I'm saying all this. That is not a concern of mine. That said and owned. There is this also. With all of the misery that has been caused in this world because of capitalist imperialism, I'm going to care if a new symbol of that misery causing system is opening? NO!!!!! I do "own" what I say and every word. The 'new WTC'? pffffftt.......

(8,032 posts)But I'm tired of people weaseling out from their "shocking" statements when they hit some headwind.
Just like our fucking politicians.

(18,124 posts)and with "headwinds", I just turn on the afterburners, plow right through. I meant everything I said. No weaseling. Never have, never will. Wasn't meant as "shock" just as an opinion that is contrary to the rah rah BS. I do understand good americans might not appreciate opinions like mine just because it's contrary to la la la land thinking. .......

(45,480 posts)While, I understand that everyone might not care about any particular news item, it is quite special to take the time to rudely state it. Much easier to pass the item by.
I didn't know, thanks for clarifying.
