Polls in recent weeks showed Scott and Crist in a virtual dead heat. The most recent Quinnipiac University poll Monday showed Crist had 42 percent of the vote to Scott's 41 percent. Libertarian Adrian Wyllie had 7 percent with 9 percent undecided.
The margin of error on the poll was 3.4 percentage points.

(5,946 posts)they are mad all mad,
There was a science fiction story that I do believe is coming true.
Asimov wrote it. It was about a world where there were tools that helped people work and survive, There were doctors that had knives that would cut through tissue but pushing arteries and veins aside so they were not cut when they operated. There were tools for all careers and off on the side were the techies - the poor "uneducated" techies that fixed the tools and invented more but weren't "smart" enough to be doctors The world seemed to get dumber and dumber but some kept their wits about them and made it possible to survive. reminds me of today.

(4,919 posts)Polling that convinces us to think that everything is a toss-up makes it easy to steal control. We are conditioned to think, "Oh, well. It was a close race." But, in reality our democracy is being stolen from us using technicalities engineered by Republican legislators.

(27 posts)Take a moment and look at the break down of how each county in Florida voted and you'll see a huge pattern. The counties that voted predominately for Scott are POOR with the exception of Collier and Lee in the southwest and Duvall in the northeast. Every election cycle we see the same pattern, the poor counties vote to keep themselves poor repeatedly.

(5,946 posts)have the assets to complain?
My sister in NC says that she has republicans for friends or she would have not friends, but basically they vote who the preacher tells them to vote for. it is easy to by off the ministers.

(27 posts)FEAR. People, especially in poor counties, will vote against their own best interests out of FEAR.
