Alan Grayson re-elected to US House
Source: Click Orlando
Alan Grayson has been re-elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, according to the Associated Press.
Grayson defeated Republican Carol Platt 53 to 44 percent with 29 percent of the precincts reporting. Marko Milakovich received 3 percent of the votes.
Grayson, a Democrat, will serve his third term in Congress, although the first two terms were not consecutive and not in the same seat.
He won the first time in 2008 on the same ballot as President Barack Obama, but he lost two years later in the mid-term election.

(45,251 posts)I used to be cynical about him, thinking he was mostly blowhard and his own best publicist. I always thought his voice was important, though, and now believe I vastly "misunderestimated" his accomplishments. Either way, I am glad for his re-election.

Congratulations to Alan and his campaign workers! .............................................................. ........................................................

For the rest of the elections, I'm mad as hell.

(10,597 posts)First thing we need to do is dump Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, and put Howard Dean back at the head of the DNC. We need to immediately double down on voter registrations in those states in which Republicon Senators are up for reelection in two years. And we need to make Citizens United a thing of the past.

(16 posts).. about Wasserman the hell with her, bring back Howard Dean.
Hurray for Alan Grayson he is only one of a few people running who I have donated money to their campaign and who reflects my views.

(10,597 posts)... who represents me, and I don't live in FL either.
You know, in a REAL Party, the leader would have already consoled the party members and supporters for the miserable hit yesterday. Has Debbie W-S been on TV today, and if not, has Howard Dean been on? I don't know, as my DISH is effed up today and won't stay on one station.
I guess PO is supposed to speak to the public this afternoon, but I am sure the only ones he will be speaking to are the Republicans, NOT the Democrats. I cannot IMAGINE what is going through his head today. God, if humans only had future-vision. Had he known what was going to happen, I bet you he would NOT have run at all. Even though he has done some things I didn't like, by God he's a Democrat! Me and every I know voted for him, twice!
I'm sorry for ranting at you. I'm just miserable and really should just stay off the computer today.

(14,255 posts)Looks like not even a "scandal" could sink him. Because the scandal had fucxk-all to do with what Grayson does in Washington. Nothing.
Not that the DNC will learn that lesson. Too much money to be had running the way they are now.

(262 posts)Alan Grayson Should now be the head of the Democratic Campaign Committee. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was not hard enough on the Republicans. She failed to call them out on their lies and their policies. Always saying that the Democrats were the better party. We can't win elections with weak leaders like her. We need Alan Grayson in the US House to take the helm and lead the party OF THE PEOPLE back to it's winning ways. I'm tired of giving money to weak ass candidates who play the role and have very little to offer our party. Good people lost last night and I blame the leadership of Schultz and Steve Israel for that. We threw out the 50 State efforts by Howard Dean and boy did that come back to bite us. He needs to be embraced again by the party. Let's get rid of the Money Mongers in our party and support the people who look out for us not the Wall Street biggies and the businessmen that always seem to stab us in the back!! That goes for Hillary. She is not supporting our interests and will be another bought and paid for politician. We need people like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders to come out as our new leaders. Show the country that we are diversified and we can win again---WARREN -- SANDERS for 2016!!!
