FedEx pilots picket in Denver's Civic Center over contract dispute

By Steve Raabe

FedEx pilots picketed in Denver Wednesday in single-digit temperatures amid a contract dispute with the package delivery firm.

About 45 uniformed pilots assembled in Civic Center Park and held picket signs with messages such as "Contract now, it's time."

The previous labor contract expired in February 2013. The two sides have since reached agreement on some terms, but others remain unresolved.

The Air Line Pilots Association, a union representing 4,200 FedEx pilots, said FedEx is pursuing "radical shifts in major sections" of the work contract. The parties have not disclosed specifics of the negotiations.
