Ferguson Cop Darren Wilson Will Never Police Again, His Lawyer Says

Source: NBC

Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who killed unarmed teen Michael Brown in August, setting off months of protests, will likely never be a law enforcement officer again, his lawyer said in an interview with NBC station KSDK.

"Realistically speaking, Darren will never be a police officer again, and he understands that," attorney Jim Towey said. "Going forward it will be school, and trying to carve out a new niche, new career, for he and his family."

There were violent protests this week in the St. Louis suburb after a grand jury declined to indict Wilson in Brown's death on Aug. 9. Twelve buildings and a police car were torched, police officers were pelted with bottles and rocks, and tear gas was used against crowds in protests after the grand jury's decision Monday. Other protests also erupted across the country.

Wilson said in an interview on ABC this week that he has a "clean conscience" and insisted "I did my job right" when he fatally shot Brown, 18, who he claimed tried to grab his gun and then charged at him that day. Other witnesses claimed the unarmed teen had his hands up when he was shot. Wilson has received death threats in the aftermath of the shooting, Neil Bruntrager, another of Wilson's attorneys, said.

I would give it up too. After all he did and how he used the media right
away to "justify" his actions, the public might just remember him in
the worst way. You never know when he may blow up again.

You might be right about the money motive, but I think it is rather
his safety. I bet that he will not tell the media where he will go.

Not that it matters, but his lawyer appears to have failed English grammar.

Wilson's lawyer is quoted as saying: "Going forward it will be school, and trying to carve out a new niche, new career, for he and his family."

No. He should have said ". . . for HIM and his family."

"For" is a preposition; a preposition requires an an object. "He" is the subjective case of the pronoun, "him" is the objective case.

The word "at" is a preposition. Consider this sentence: "I threw a rock at (he, or, him)." "At him" because "him" is the objective case.

I guess he earned his law degree by mailing in a few box tops.

suspect fleeing a rape-murder of a child and who fails to stop when ordered should be fired upon. It's essential to weigh/consider the likely threat threat to future victims.

If, conversely, the suspect is fleeing a jaywalking citation, I support letting that one go.

Most other things are going to fall between these two examples and require rapid judgment about the public safety threats - that posed by the suspect and the danger to others when firing on a fleeing suspect.

Mother of policeman who shot dead Michael Brown was 'a serial con artist who defrauded thousands of dollars from neighbors in stolen credit card scheme'

Police named Darren Wilson as the officer that shot dead Michael Brown, 18, on August 9 in Ferguson, Missouri
Neighbor's claim Wilson's mother was a known con artist
She would allegedly befriend people in the community and steal their identifies to take out loans and rack up credit card debt
Durso died when her son - now 28 - was about 18

By Daniel Bates In Ferguson for MailOnline

Neighbors claim the policeman accused of shooting dead an unarmed teenager in St Louis had a serial con woman for a mother, MailOnline can reveal.

Darren Wilson’s mother Tonya Durso won the trust of her neighbors then cheated them out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by stealing their identities and taking out vast loans and credit card debt.

At the time she committed the offenses she was on parole for similar crimes elsewhere the state and afterwards died at the age of 35 under mysterious circumstances.

Neighbors today revealed how they were stunned that Wilson became a police officer after his mother behaved so deviously towards them.

So Darren Wilson was brought up by a woman who knew how to lie, cheat and steal. I wonder what effect that had on his ability to be honest under oath?

There is also the point that she died under mysterious circumstances which apparently have never been clarified.

I have a little different take on him.

I think the evidence is pretty clear he was both lazy and instigated this incident,. as well as incompetent.

What police officer BACKS up his car to put himself in a position where he is stuck in his vehicle with his BACK to people he is confronting?

He got the situation amped up, then over reacted and wasn't able to manage the situation without killing Brown.

He can say he has a clear conscience, and he has ginned himself up to square his story to what made it something to get past the grand jury and to present to the media.

But, he KNOWS what happened, and I think how he got in over his head and ended up killing Brown along with what I think is a guy who was marginal in being in the job in the first place, he just does not have the constitution for the job.

He will always have this lingering over him, and if he were to land somewhere other than Ferguson where this could get covered up, he is a pretty sure bet to end up in another bad situation and it might not turn out as well for him.

For everyone else, good to not have him in a position where he has the capacity for lethal force, because he is both an incompetent twit and too weak to have that kind of power.

Probably the most infamous picture from the Vietnam War was one of General Nguyen Ngoc Loan executing a VC sapper - in the middle of the street in Saigon. After the fall of Saigon, the US removed him from Vietnam and set him up in Virginia, where he opened a pizza parlor in a mall...which did good business for a while, then collapsed after the people in the area figured out who he was.
