Schools, businesses being evacuated during lockdown; APD looking for armed person in SE Albuquerque

An Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson said the department is working on an incident involving an armed subject near Eubank and Innovation and that all nearby schools and most businesses were placed on lockdown.

According to APD, witnesses said the armed subject was shooting in the area of Mantano Mesa Elementary and had also shot at the Emcore buildings.
Manzano Mesa Elementary School were placed on lockdown because of the police activity in the area just before 4 p.m. The lockdown lasted until around 5:45 p.m., when police started to let parents pick students up from school.

APD spokesperson Tanner Tixier said police originally received calls about a man, described as about 6 feet tall and wearing all black, with multiple guns walking down the street near the Emcore building, but they have yet to locate him.
