Bill Cosby Under Full-Scale Investigation (Playboy Mansion search warrant)

Source: The London Daily Mail

Several more women who claim to have been sexually assaulted by comedy legend Bill Cosby have come forward sparking a ‘definitive open investigation’ by Los Angeles Police Department, a lawyer for one of the victims has told Daily Mail. The new victims claim to have been subjected to sex attacks by Cosby but have asked to remain anonymous. Significantly, in another blow for the star, it is believed a number of the latest raft of allegations fall within the statute of limitations meaning he can be prosecuted if enough evidence is found.

The complaint will be a huge blow to Cosby – who already faces more than 25 historic accusations of sexual assault and rape. But news that several other victims may also fall in to this same category will further rock Cosby and his legal team. Florida attorney Mr Kuvin told MailOnline: ‘I have sat down with my client and have a full understanding of the issues involved and what has occurred.

‘I have had lengthy communications with the Los Angeles Police Department and there is now a definitive open investigation which is ongoing for, it’s my understanding, other unnamed victims who have yet to be revealed publicly. ‘The police will be doing additional investigative work which will include things like issuing search warrants. ‘They want to get all their information first before sitting down and having an interview. This is scheduled to happen early in the new year.

This comes after it emerged in December that the LAPD plans to search Hugh Hefner's famous Playboy mansion as part of their investigation. Police are hoping Hugh Hefner, long a dear friend of the embattled 77-year-old comic, and his people will be of some help as they seek to gather evidence in several cases which are linked to the Playboy mansion.

Hannibal Buress: ...Bill Cosby has the fucking smuggest old black man public persona that I hate. "Pull your pants up, black people...I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom." Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches...I want to just at least make it weird for you to watch Cosby Show reruns...People think I'm making it up...Trust me -- you leave here and google 'Bill Cosby rape'...That shit has more results than 'Hannibal Buress.'

If only he'd said something more like "horn dog" or "trifling" or "booty caller" or "chick banger" or "skirt chaser" or just plain "dirty old man."

Hannibal Burress Google Search: 532,000 results
Bill Cosby Rape: 51,200,000 results

Bill Cosby Horn Dog: 3,530,000 results
Bill Cosby Trifling: 68,100 results
Bill Cosby booty call: 1,230,000 results
Bill Cosby chick banger: 1,510,000 results
Bill Cosby skirt chaser: 3,140,000
Bill Cosby dirty old man: 2,420,000 results

See? With only one exception, the joke would have worked just as well, and maybe someone wouldn't have thought it was "crazy" enough to upload.

CBS News.com: Buress told...The Howard Stern Show...."I've been doing the bit on and off for six months...It wasn't my intention to make it part of a big discussion...It was just something I was doing at that venue right there. So for someone to put it to the media, it's crazy...I said it and I gotta stand on it, but it is an interesting situation."

Burress actually respects Cosby's work, praising the star in a 2013 GQ interview. "It's stuff that holds up...All of it is evergreen. He talks about asking somebody, 'Why do you do cocaine?' 'Because it intensifies your personality.' Cosby says, 'What if you're an a**hole?' I think it's the only time he curses during the whole special...If I had to do an hour clean now, I don't know how I'd pull it off."

The bottom line is that jokes about rape and rapists still aren't funny. And though Buress wisely ended the joke on a self-depreciating note, he'd better hope that Cosby doesn't become "interested" in suing him. Are TWO comedic careers on their way to hell on a road paved with "good intentions?"

They could point at him and say they weren't being racist because he was talking down to African-Americans. In their minds since an African-American was talking down to his fellow African-Americans that made it OK for them to do it too.

rumors about Cosby being a rapist have been around for literally decades, and Burress was merely stating that. This isn't a case of the wrong word to use, such as dirty old man instead of rapist, which is what I think you're suggesting?

Comedy and satire are protected under the 1st Amendment. But it wasn't a "stray remark". It is no coincidence that only a comic had the courage to publicly bring up a topic that on one else would touch.

That made me wonder why the only reports we are hearing are many years old.

Maybe he did get the message and stopped. But some of the reports I read said that he was also really into hookers. Don't know if that's true as I never met the man. But it would kind of make sense that going to hookers was safer for him.

I remembered an article from several years ago about a member of the cast, one of the girls, who refused to come to a reunion of the Huxtable family. That was Lisa Bonet, described as "estranged" for the last 20 years.

I wonder what she would say about that now?

....of Lisa's "estrangement" rose to the surface of my mind, and I couldn't shake it.

In a family with a molesting father, sometimes he goes after all his girls, but even more often there's just the one, and everyone else wonders what the hell is wrong with her because everyone else seems so happy and well adjusted.

And that was Lisa. Everyone else in the Huxtable "family" was okay, but she refused to come to the reunion. Right.

It spoiled the "squeaky-clean" image he was trying to maintain for the Cosby Show family.

That doesn't mean he was acting inappropriately toward her. It just shows he's a self-righteous douche canoe, which we all knew he was anyway.

and considering that they are having to use some of the finite police resources (which probably takes away some of the focus on current rape cases) it does make me wonder what the goal of the investigation is if they cannot prosecute him for it?
I mean is it being done to help the women for a potential civil case? If so then I wonder which woman as some of the alleged cases took place decades ago and the statute of limitations even for a civil case to be brought has expired.
