I do wish my adopted state had adopted this via the elected branches because those decisions tend to be less contentious over the long run.

Given that the 6th circuit has gone against the grain and has upheld marriages bans in their respective States, SCOTUS may now intervene.

sad thing is Jeb and Rick will be the first to make money when all these people move here to get married. All of Dixie LGBT and Half of Latin America will move here just for that reason, because they know Miami ios a pocket of culture that does not care what Dixie thinks.

The SCOTUS ain't gonna touch this issue with a ten-foot law clerk. It's far easier to let the Courts of Appeal act. Roberts wants no part of this. It's not anything that advances or retards the march of corporatism, which is the issue nearest and dearest to his heart, and it's gonna happen anyway, so why get the SCOTUS involved. And no one on the court save for the Terrible Three wants to come face to face with that thermonuclear opinion that Posner wrote for the Seventh Circuit. That opinion was a gigantic "fuck you in the ear" from Posner to Fat Tony and Uncle Ruckus.

Guarantee the vote to grant cert/injunction was 6-3. Roberts, Ginsburg, Breyer, Kennedy, Kagan and Sotomayor voting "no" and Soapy Sam, Fat Tony and Uncle Ruckus voting "yea."
