FairPoint workers rally outside State House

Source: WMUR

By Mike Cronin

CONCORD, N.H. —Striking FairPoint workers protested in Concord on Friday as the company struggles to reach an agreement over contract negotiations.

Union officials said they have made three contract offers since FairPoint's last proposal in April, but they said the company is not willing to compromise. The strike is in its 10th week.

Hundreds of workers and supporters rallied on the State House lawn to ask FairPoint for a deal. The strike began on Oct. 17 when workers walked off the job over a contract dispute.

Unions representing more than 1,700 workers across three states said FairPoint has rejected just about all of their proposals for a deal.
