Chill Out, Liberals! The Republicans Took The Senate And That’s TERRIBLE…For Them

What? Did you think this would be good news for Republicans? Not a chance!

You see, for the last 6 years, the only thing Republicans have had to do is say “No!” to anything and everything President Obama and the Democrats put forth. That’s easy when your base hates the president so much they would happily light themselves on fire if he said “Third degree burns are bad for you.”

This rage keeps the right wing voting for Republicans as long as Republicans tell them what they want to hear: Obama is a Kenyan Muslim socialist Commie Nazi that stole the elections, government is the problem and we’re here to stop Big Gub’mint blablabla…

But now Republicans have to do something they no longer know how to do: Lead.

representatives lead. They seem to be happy with verbal slurs and one-upping aimed toward Democrats and 'libruls.' I know my SIL is perfectly happy with that, and so are her friends and neighbors. They ostensibly want gubmint out of their lives, they think corporations have the people's interests at heart and are perfect organizations for shaping society, and that poor people are money-grubbing wastes of space who shouldn't even be allowed to vote.

"We don't like your proposal. What are you willing to concede?" And then they hammered the Democrats for proposing cuts to this or that. The Republicans were totally stunned when they suddenly had to think up DEMANDS.

can establish fracking as safe for our drinking water, now they can support the XL Pipeline and more Wall Street bailouts. Now they can make the NSA/CIA Security State even stronger. Howz about the chained CPI? They will have no trouble leading via the conservative agenda.

Non-Conservatives need to worry.

us in the same damn direction, since both Obama and Hillary seem to like that stuff, too! What's the dif? So what's a non-conservative to do? Any suggestion that the Dem Party as a whole should reclaim its progressive roots is met here by a bunch of people saying we want skittle-shitting ponies.
