Rolling Stone - Newt and Callista's Affair 'Was Common Knowledge' on the Hill

Newt and Callista's Affair 'Was Common Knowledge' on the Hill

POSTED: January 26, 2:14 PM ET | By Tim Dickinson

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/blogs/national-affairs/newt-and-callista-an-affair-to-remember-20120126

Newt Gingrich's affair with his future third wife Callista Bisek, at the time an aide in the office of Wisconsin Rep. Steve Gunderson, was in full bloom on the eve of the Republican Revolution that propelled Gingrich to become House Speaker, in 1994.

"It was fairly common knowledge on the Hill," a former colleague of Callista's in Gunderson's office tells Rolling Stone. "Certainly in Republican circles it was widely known about."

The former colleague's comments shed new light on the out-in-the-open nature of the Gingrich affair — years before Gingrich would petition his second wife for an "open marriage" in 1999.

Callista, whom the former colleague remembers as a "small-town girl from Wisconsin" would discuss her relationship with Gingrich at the office. "She was not veiled about it," he says. Without explicitly saying, "Yes I'm having an affair with Newt," Callista would say things like, "Obviously you're aware of the relationship I have," the ex-staffer recalls.

2. I can put up with a lot of things in a relationship. Screwing around isn't one of them.

I've known women in the past who have tried to convince me that "fuck buddies" are the way to go. Maybe for them, not for me.

I knew a woman once who was one of the sweetest, kindest women you'd ever want to know. One night she prepared this elaborate, romantic dinner for her boyfriend. Problem is, he didn't show up. He was across town boning someone else.

The whole "open marriage" / free love / fuck buddy thing is OK for consenting results who knowingly and willingly enter into it. Their lives, their business. But when one of the people into the relationship just goes for it without telling another, it's the prime example of "lower than whale shit."

for 32 yrs. I have no regrets. Sex is nice but it isn't the only thing. I grew up thinking sex was what you did when you got married. I had a wonderful Italian american dad and mom that I never wanted to disappoint in life. I am not going to judge other and their sexual attitudes but when your married I believe staying true. If your partner wants to cheat then he should talk with his wife or partner. The decision should be the one who isn't cheating. I have never had a desire to cheat. I have taken the vow of marriage seriously. To be honest I don't believe in divorce either unless the partner is beating on you. Then I say get the hell out. I am catholic and I just don't think I could go through a divorce. So thank god I love my husband.

That PICTURE!! That was back in the day!

She had longer hair for awhile, too...

It was astounding that no one outed the guy.

This whole "I am a true Reagan conservative" crap needs to be debunked.

Gingrich Asked About Marital Past, Role In Clinton Impeachment

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/01/gingrich-asked-about-marital-past-role-in-clinton-impeachment/

By MATTHEW JAFFE & ELICIA DOVER -

“When you were Speaker of the House, you criticized President Clinton for having an extramarital affair,” Univision correspondent Jorge Ramos said to Gingrich during a forum Wednesday in Miami.

“No, I criticized President Clinton for lying under oath in front of a federal judge, committing perjury – which is a felony for which normal people go to jail -” Gingrich replied before Ramos cut him off.

“However at the same time you were doing exactly the same thing.”

“But I wasn’t. You didn’t hear my answer. Look, I have been through two divorces -” Gingrich responded.

What a bullshitter!

His 2nd wife got a ton of money because Callista didn't want to take the stand and talk about every (pardon my crude language) screw, blow job and other creative sexual act that took place in the Speaker's office, on the Speaker's conference table, couch, xerox machine...etc. And she WAS served with a goal towards making her do just that! Marianne, from what I was told, got a pile of cash OUTSIDE the divorce settlement for permitting Callista to simply "stipulate to sexual contact."

...Newt thinks he "wasn't doing the same thing" as Clinton because Clinton "committed perjury."

He won;t even acknowledge the "You guys were cheating on your wives at the same time" concept because he did it without committing perjury.

Is it any WONDER why people see him as "presidential?"

Everyone knew about it. No one said anything. If they didn't deny it, they didn't lie. That's the magic of being a Republican©.
