Without Truth & Dissent Love of Country is Moot | Philip A. Farruggio

As with many out there this writer has a deep affection for his country.
My work calls for me to speak with white collar and blue collar small business people daily... throughout America. The overwhelming majority seem to be decent, diligent and hardworking stiffs.
Yet, when I initiate deeper discussions on the economic and political reasons for our nation's quasi-depression (both fiscally and spiritually), most of these folks come off as highly unsophisticated and not well versed in history. I do not mean the history that the mainstream publishing and media portrays... and even that is lacking in the minds of most of our neighbors. I mean the key element that makes history free from the sin of perspective... and that is called Factual Proven Truth.
Professor James Petras had his column posted near to my newest one on Nov. 13th at Information Clearing House. My column, 21st Century Amerika: The Fourth Reich, suggests that our great nation has become successor to the Third Reich of the Hitler gang.
Prof. Petras in his new piece (really an essay) : The Con Man Cornered: Obama and the Democratic Debacle of 2014, goes into much more detail about how the "Hope & Change" campaign of 2008 was transformed into "Ya' better hope he changes... quick." Petras defines each of the major policy decisions by Mr. Obama AND the overwhelming majority of his Democratic Congressional members, and how they are really NO different from what the other side of the political aisle trumpets.
Bottom line: WE are a military industrial empire and most Americans in positions of power and prestige serve it. Allow me to go one step further and state that most of our friends and neighbors also serve this empire as well, whether they realize it or not. Sad.
