One incident of goat sacrifice should not keep this man out of the U. S. Senate

His name is Augustus Sol Invictus. He sacrificed a goat to the god of the wilderness. And some people are trying to say that this makes him unfit for the U. S. Senate!

Yes, Invictus, a man who sacrificed a goat and drank its blood, is coming under fire in his race as a Libertarian candidate for the U. S. Senate in Florida (you knew it was Florida without looking).

Look, if we limit eligibility for public office to people who haven’t sacrificed a goat and drunk its blood in a pagan ritual to thank the god of the wilderness, we are forced to consider people like Ted Cruz and Donald Trump.

We live in an age of political dishonesty. Hidden e-mails. Hidden agendas. People who don’t say what they mean or mean what they say. (Admittedly, every age is an age of Exceptional Political Dishonesty. We have been complaining about this since the days of Aristophanes, who observed that “beneath every stone lurks a politician.”)

It's like Jesus-flavored lunchables.

Wonder if you can put that in your kid's lunch at public school....

I think you're on to something there. With the proper marketing there's a bundle of money to be made there.

It combines the attributes of Manna, the Holy food God fed his chosen, with tech, the latest nutritional science.

It cures cancer, heart disease, and about every other illness you can think of, including illness of the spirit.

And yes, Republican Presidential contender (and medical professional) Ben Carson endorsed and advertised this product.

It points out how G W Bush sat reading from the children's book "My Pet GOAT" as a "blood sacrifice" was being made at the Twin Towers. Even when informed by Andy Card that "Mr. President, America is under attack", Bush refused to interrupt the ritual, which was an offer to the GOAT headed God, Baphomet. Part of the deal was that the innocents (the school children) bear witness to the sacrificial ritual.

Ridiculous, isn't it?

Now go back to the video "There's Power In The Blood", posted above, watch it, and get back to me.

On the GOP side, there are a handful of candidates, including my Congresscritter David Jolly (who the Dem Party totally fucked up even getting an opponant on the ballot against). On the Dem side, there's Alan Grayson whom I'll vote for in the primary, of course. Opposing Grayson in the primary is DWS's pet candidate, Patrick Murphy, who is a former republican (naturally).
If the GE choices are a republican or a Third Way former republican backed by DINO Debbie, I might have to give the goat-killer Augustus Sol Invictus a look. Can't possibly be any worse than the other 2 choices. This is the curse of living in Florida.

A Scottish old timer in Scotland, in a bar, talking to a young man.

The Old Man says, "Lad, look out there to the field. Do ya see that fence? Look how well it's built. I built that fence stone by stone with me own two hands. I piled it for months."

"But do they call me McGreggor-the-Fence-Builder? Nooo..."

Then the old man gestured at the bar. "Look here at the bar. Do ya see how smooth and just it is? I planed that surface down by me own achin' back. I carved that wood with me own hard labour, for eight days."

"But do they call me McGreggor-the-Bar-builder? Nooo..."

Then the old man points out the window. "Eh, Laddy, look out to sea...Do ya see that pier that stretches out as far as the eye can see? I built that pier with the sweat off me back. I nailed it board by board."

"But do they call me McGreggor-the-Pier-Builder? Nooo..."

Then the old man looks around nervously, trying to make sure no one is paying attention.

"But ya fuck one goat..."

I don't know where he stands on issues, but anyone who counts his religious practices against him should reconsider their own position on religious liberty.

Granted, animal sacrifice and drinking blood are...uh, passe, neither is illegal, and sacrifices were a part of Judeo-Christian rites.

If the goat was kill quickly it's no more cruel than the food we eat in the grocery store. Animal sacrifice isn't necessarily animal cruelty. If you are a vegan, to you insist that everyone you vote for is also a vegan?
