Free to good home: Arabian horses up for adoption!

A herd of about 40 Arabian horses, with the chiseled heads and high tail carriages characteristic of one of the world's oldest equine breeds, will be free to good homes starting next week.

In the largest rescue the New Jersey-based Arabian Rescue Mission has taken on, the horses will be transported today by trailer from the muddy hillside of their West Virginia farm to a new, temporary home at the Westmoreland County Fairgrounds to await adoption.

A huge THANK YOU to our ARM crew, all the volunteers who helped, the donors who brought supplies and the caretaker Russell and the family of Fazal Khan. None of this would have been possible without you!

We are still in need of donations as we will be here till the last horse is adopted to an approved home. There are 29 left in need of homes. They can be seen between 10AM-5PM Tuesday through Sunday.

there may be preservation breeders who would be willing and able to provide good, secure and knowlegable homes.

Wish I could right now. I have the space and hay, I just lost my 27 year old arab. But too many other things are in flux right now to bring a new baby into the mix at my mini-farm...
