'The enduring symbol of our country is not the barbed wire fence, it is the Statue of Liberty.

In the long history of human civilization, we are the only Republic to have earned the brand name — the reputation — of being, “The Land of Opportunity.”

Character is the product of a lifetime — the lifetime of our Nation. That character has taken a hit.
It hurts me deeply to write this:

Liberty’s flame has been extinguished. For the first time — and in our time — the American flame of human dignity has been put out.
That which so many of us thought was sacred, has now been snuffed. Elections have consequences.

The question is whether we have the grit, the determination, and the guts to hold strong to our principles as a people, and re-light that Torch of Liberty.
