Carter Page, a former adviser to Donald Trumps presidential campaign, has written a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice blaming former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her campaign for accusations that he has been colluding with the Russian government.
Page, a former investment banker who has made a name for himself attacking the United States government on Russian state media outlets, gave The Intercept a copy of a letter he wrote to the DOJ asking it to investigate the severe election fraud in the form of disinformation, suppression of dissent, hate crimes and other extensive abuses led by members of Mrs. Hillary Clintons campaign and their political allies last year.
At issue, according to Page, are accusations that he has maintained significant contacts with Russian intelligence officials during and after his time as a Trump foreign policy adviser. Specifically, Page says that the Clinton campaign was behind these accusations, which he believes are an attempt to silence him from speaking his mind.
The actions by the Clinton regime and their associates may be among the most extreme examples of human rights violations observed during any election in U.S. history since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was similarly targeted for his anti-war views in the 1960s, writes Page.

(31,506 posts)It took 4 responses before he pinned the blame on Hillary.
But I think I can actually answer that question as to why that was fake news. That was just a regurgitation of old reports, based on the dodgy dossier that the Clinton campaign came out with.
JUDY WOODRUFF: So, in other words
CARTER PAGE: So, yes, Im aware Im aware of these ongoing public relations attacks against the administration and people who have supported it. But
JUDY WOODRUFF: Well, let me just stop and say the reports are citing intelligence agencies. So, were talking about the CIA, the FBI.
So, youre saying these agencies are not to be believed, or the news media is making this up, or what?
(CROSSTALK)
CARTER PAGE: Well, what Im saying, what Im saying is, you know, at least last year, they were responding to false evidence, which is an obstruction of justice, false evidence given to the Intelligence Committee intelligence community by the Clinton campaign.
Now thats pretty well-established, you know, with this dodgy dossier that came out last month. So, I think its pretty clear evidence.
And, you know, in terms of it being fake news today, the big front-page story on The New York Times, I actually sent them a copy of a real dossier that I submitted to the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice over the weekend.
And, unfortunately to one of the authors of that front-page article and that never got included at all. So, you know, its its very one-sided.

(6,436 posts)dream state reimagining the reports didn't come from Intelligence community.
She should have asked him: "So you're saying these reports of repeated communications of trump campaign officials with Russian contacts DID NOT come from the Intelligence community? That the NYT just made that part up?"
