Republicans are secretly reviewing their new health care bill inside a basement

House Republicans are taking impressive security measures to prevent leaks of their newly drafted health care bill

CHARLIE MAY

House Republicans are expected to be releasing their long-awaited health care plan on Thursday — the one that they say will replace Obamacare. The problem is, only other House Republicans are allowed to see it.

“We’re not hatching some bill in a backroom and plopping it on the American people’s front door,” House Speaker Paul Ryan had told NBC’s “Today” show on Tuesday.

Rep. Chris Collins, R-N.Y., who sits on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which authored the drafted legislation, told the Washington Examiner that only Republicans will receive access to the bill. It also must be viewed in the basement of a building that adjoins the Capitol, and no one is allowed to make a copy.

The measure will be reviewed next Wednesday in committee and expected to look similar to proposals that conservatives have already criticized. The bill will include replacing Affordable Care Act subsidies with refundable tax credits and converting Medicaid expansion into a block grant system controlled by the states.

Technically he's right. They're hatching the bill in a basement and plopping it on the American people's front door(step).

Don't want the masses to know that R's are deliberately and with malice and aforethought are literally trying to kill us. Must keep the truth hidden until all the R's have been sufficiently threatened (the very few that actually care about their constituents) and the rest given the lies to spread about how good this will be. Sadly, our only hope is the Freedom Caucus because they might oppose the tax credits. I notice this doesn't mention Medicare, what are they scared of old people so didn't fuck with us yet, or are they trying to keep this part of the treachery hidden until after it's been voted on? If so, hope Dems highlight both these issues, destruction of Medicaid and Medicare, all day every day. Even most of the drumpf voters won't like either of those.

Arthur Dent when determining why he was unaware his house was going to be demolished. . . .

“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”

Paul Ryan no doubt took cues from Skippy Walker. The GOP in WI makes a habit out of slimy closed back door policy decisions by which the opposition neither has time to review or participate in their gestapo like tactics. In the worst gerrymandered state in the country (WI) the WI GOP did their dirty work with a private law firm, in secret in Madison. When ordered by the courts to render their policy directives to courts who questioned the process, they refused. Revised mining laws were written in secret by the mining company with little to no time to debate before a vote was taken. And now we have the same crap on display in Washington.
Republicans have no morals. They want complete control, which they have in both WI and Washington. To try and undo this unrestricted power will be very difficult as they now will begin to unleash the flatulent power that they have finally obtained. If you think that this election was a doozy, just wait for the next one. Democrats did not openly revolt ,as republicans had threatened to do if they lost the election. We kept our cool. The GOP is greed oriented, always has been, and a very dangerous game has just begun. The freedom and very fabric of our democracy is on trial. Who will win?
