Trump sons, planning expansion of family business, look to leverage campaign experience

By Jonathan O'Connell, David A. Fahrenthold and Matea Gold March 4 at 5:27 PM

NEW YORK — Donald Trump’s adult sons, who are overseeing a nationwide expansion of the family business during their father’s presidency, are envisioning ways that their experiences from the campaign trail can help them establish a footing in dozens of new markets.

The idea is to move beyond a focus on luxury hotels in big metropolises and build boutique properties in a broader mix of cities, including some the Trump brothers came to know well during more than a year of intensive travel, fundraising and grass-roots networking on the road to the White House.

“I got to see a lot of those markets on the campaign,” Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, told The Washington Post in a recent interview from his office on the 25th floor of Trump Tower. “I think I’ve probably been in all of them over the last 18 months.”

The initial plan is tied to the Trumps’ previously announced new chain, Scion, which is being designed as a less-corporate feeling brand of high-end hotels with a more affordable per-room price point than the Trumps’ five-star properties.

That should catch on like a watered down piece of wood. I don't think lil' Donnie understand that villages and hamlets have the coin to support 4 star hotels when no one is there to stay. Did he think about the number of VIP that won't be coming through these whistle stop towns? Maybe he thought these guys in small markets would be able to afford business expense write offs that can handle high end restaurants and amenities in normal trump hotels.

LOL...

Not to take anything away from small towns, I prefer them to the LA's of our country as well as the gems that can be found in small towns. If they are talking about Cleveland or a place like that does little donnie understand it is already has a great cultural life?

work out, declare bankruptcy and walk away again? The family is nothing but con artists out for money, in some ways I see Trump's presidency as his retirement package.

Trump's Mar-a-Lago club just doubled its new membership fee to $200,000

It just got more expensive to share a resort with the president.{my own italics_Bill-USA}

The Trump Organization's premiere Florida property, The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, has doubled its initiation fee for new members to $200,000, according to CNBC sources.

CNBC notes that there's no way to know if the price increase is due to rising demand for memberships, but there's no doubt the club has enjoyed a higher profile as of late. The changes went into effect January 1.

What shocked me about his winning any voters over was the fact that he is well known as a bullshitting con man. How much more did the middle class guy need to see than with his phony college? They voted for a fraud who will take away all the protections he can.
