Jon Ossoff, the Democratic candidate running for a House seat in Georgia’s 6th district, proposed to his longtime girlfriend Alisha Kramer on Friday, according to a report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Ossoff has cited Kramer throughout his campaign as the reason he does not live in the 6th district.
...........

Because of his girlfriend's prominent role in the campaign, Ossoff has faced direct questions about when the longtime couple plans to tie the knot.

............................

Ossoff and Kramer had been dating 12 years before he popped the question. Kramer, a third-year medical student at Emory University, grew up in Atlanta, Ga. and attended Georgetown University with Ossoff.

Ossoff, who once served as a congressional aide, will face off with Republican Karen Handel in the special runoff election on June 20.
