Dear, Boy Scout Leaders: Apology Not Accepted

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/dear-boy-scout-leaders-apology-not-accepted_us_597a5aa6e4b09982b7376331?gt§ion=us_contributor

Whoopi. It only took three full days for the executive leadership of the Boy Scouts to issue an apology for the hate-filled rhetoric used by our so-called president. And, boy, is it pitiful.

While they seem to regret Trump’s words leaking out of his mouth, as if they had no idea that could possibly happen ― it’s possible they’ve been too busy helping old ladies cross the street for the past six months to notice who’s in the oval office ― there doesn’t appear to be any mention of condemnation or, at the very least, rejection on the part of the Boy Scouts regarding the appalling speech that was delivered to a gathering of children.
....
When the BSA finally releases a statement addressing and amending the above, and puts in writing their refusal to condone this type of inexcusable behavior ― be it the president or anyone else, it will appear they get the message. However, it’s doubtful we’ll ever see anything even close, as it’s now common knowledge, Randall Stephenson, head of the Boy Scouts and CEO of AT&T ― and a pal of Trump ― is seeking approval from the government for his company’s take-over of Time Warner. So, don’t hold your breath for any legitimate apology anytime soon, as it’s completely obvious he’s fine throwing the BSA under the bus if it means his business deal goes through.

It’s time for new, stronger, and less conflicted leadership of the Boy Scouts. These kids need people with conviction and principles leading them forward. Not cowardly sycophants and easily manipulated businessmen.

How about the fact that the adults present, especially the scout masters, seemed all too eager to join in in the frenzy of obedience? Where does the Boy Scout leadership draw the line? How much hate are you willing to tolerate as an organization before it leaves the “political sphere” and crosses into the “you gotta be kidding” one?

That's amazing. And sums it up quite nicely.

I've long harbored doubts about the Boy Scouts, have long seen them as a benign Hitler Youth in Waiting, and this confirms it.

If I had sons currently in scouting I'd pull them out immediately.

Yep - pull them out. They're being indoctrinated with hatespew. They will not be "quality people."

Both these parties should be embarrassed and both should have immediately distanced themselves from the bigoted remarks of tRUMP. They didn't. That's okay. History will just them all harshly, as it will w/ tRUMP.

never would condoned such language or verbiage in front of boys...or, would have taken them immediately aside, and explained. I'm sure lots of scout leaders did so...so don't really knock the boys, or most scout leaders since they all are taught to treat all w/ respect guests ...

INSTEAD...blame the idiotic president - t RUMP ... for not being a man, and acting like a baby/manchild, literally, in front of 40,000 true men...

They deserve respect, not to be trashed with those who failed the standards of the BSA so badly.

As for the organizers, they were pinned to the bull's eye no matter how they decided. Refusing, for the first time in history, to allow this POTUS to address the jamoree was completely unacceptable and would have caused giant, as in red nation in flames, criticism for "injecting politics" and in such an extremely insulting, partisan way. Even many on the left would have disapproved.

They were understandably worried and actually issued a statement requesting the audience behave well. But Rump's behavior was completely out of their control.

To think those gurning idiots on the stage with him, obviously agreeing with every filthy inappropriate word-diarrhea from DT's fevered diatribe are entrusted with the formation of so many kids in their developing years.
In a better world, the World Scouting Organisation (is there one?? Must be) should quarantine the US version.
