Days of court filings, flipped witnesses, damaging disclosures and sentencing hearings over the last month have delivered blows that appear to expose Trump and key associates to deep legal and political jeopardy.
But the head-spinning volume of material being churned out by special counsel Robert Mueller and other jurisdictions often also blurs the bigger picture of a presidency beset by a span of scandal that is staggering in its breadth.
Simply put, Trump's campaign, transition, inaugural committee and presidency are now under active criminal investigation. His business -- the Trump Organization -- and his defunct charity -- The Trump Foundation are also under investigation (the charity investigation is a civil one). His college -- Trump University -- has already been deemed a fraud.

(4,461 posts)He and his children will be exposed as one of the top crime families in America. It is amazing he made it this far. Sadly, these people are so used to living this way...doing what they want without regard to others or the law.

(38,359 posts)who kept him from harm. No matter what happened, they knew how to protect him. Either from bankruptcy, divorce, crime, losing law suits over anything..or everything. Parental problems, sex problems..etc...
..Now he has a swarm of investigators and prosecutors. Not just anybody, but some of the best that exist, with lots of experience at getting people that know "how to get away". His ego got him to run, and Putin helped him to win.
.. If he had lost, then things would have returned to the "old ways"..maybe. As long as he went back to his so called, "private life."
...But he won. And now, he is totally f**ked. His arrogance and ego have empowered the "swarm" to get him, and get him good. Not just "get and sting him" but get him and "destroy him." Why? ...................
....We all know the reason why. He is a total and complete liar and ass**le. He always attacks with lies of all kinds. When you think that he has said them all, he comes up with a new one. In addition to this, he is totally corrupt beyond reason. And the prosecutors really want this one.
...Also, when he makes a mistake, he does not apologize..ever.. He thinks that shows strength, but actually it shows arrogance and total stupidity. In public office, you need a way to apologize gracefully and effectively. . Trump doesn't try. He doesn't care. He doesn't give a sh*t. In the end, that shows incredible weakness.
..So as you said, and I will repeat, this running for office was indeed the "stupidest thing ever" that this, "stupidest-person-ever" ever did.

(4,066 posts)It's so funny that it's right out of so many morality tales.
If he didn't have such an ego, and the petty need for revenge at perceived slights he'd be clear. He'd be able to run his criminal organization until the day he died. Then hand it off to Don Jr.
Now, he's ruined it all by being a petty dick. He had to one-up Obama. He had to tear down what someone, who is a far better human than him, put together. All of his actions are out of spite and rage.
It's going to add to all the other classical stories of its genre.

(51,430 posts)His entire life he has gotten away with murder so why should now be any different. He has many personality disorders according to the psychiatrists who wrote Duty To Warn. His narcissism and sociopathic behavior keep him from realizing the enormous problems surrounding him now and in the future. He still seriously believes he is above all of this since he is a superior human being.
