DONALD TRUMP WILL RESIGN AND IT WILL HAPPEN 'SUDDENLY,' PREDICTS KEITH OLBERMANN.
'The Donald Trump presidency will end with his resignation, and it will come suddenly, with little warning, according to political commentator Keith Olbermann. Speaking on the latest edition of his GQ series The Resistance on Tuesday, Olbermann, a former MSNBC host, said he believed that Trump would call it quits when special counsel Robert Muellers investigation into his campaigns links to Russia grow too close for comfort.

For a while now, I have thought the Trump presidency would end suddenly, Olbermann said.
For weeks now I have been anticipating that Trumps last day in office will dawn like all the others, and then around dinnertime it will suddenly break that he is about to resign, he added after retelling a story about being told he might have to jump on a story of then-President Bill Clintons imminent resignation during the Monica Lewinsky scandal. I dont know if thats next Tuesday or next year, but I think whenever it is, that is what it will feel like.'>>>

(3,432 posts)Resigning before his term is up is a signal that he is below greatness. The whole essence of his existence is his greatness. He would commit suicide before losing his greatness. He will have to be removed from office or lose the 2020 election. I do think that it is possible that something will snap in his head, and he will do something really crazy. I hope he has no access to firearms.

(27,813 posts)I've anticipated his resignation from the day he was "elected". Once Mueller was on the job, it seemed inevitable that push would indeed come to shove, and he'd quit.
I didn't know (and still don't) whether it would be as the result of knowing he can't survive the investigations and resign of his own accord, or if the GOP would tell him it was quit or be humiliated on the world stage by being impeached. I don't care either way - as long as he's gone.
At this point, Trump's departure is the GOP's only chance to retain any credibility whatsoever. With everything that's been revealed thus far, the Republican PTB now know Trump is going down. Their only option going into 2020 is to talk-up Pence - an upstanding Christian man, bland but scandal-free.
Besides, Trump has always bailed when things weren't going his way. He simply spins his business failures into having been someone else's fault. (Sound familiar?) In addition, I'm sure he believes that unfettered by the restraints of the "pResidency", he'll be free to fight down-and-dirty against the charges against him in state courts - ya know, those jurisdictions where even a pre-made agreement of a presidential pardon have no sway.
Having to resign will kill him - and the humiliation will be on the world stage, not in some NYC boardroom. I so look forward to it.

(1,184 posts)Good possibility and also the possibility that those Big Macs he eats everyday will clog an artery. Either way, each day has his departure from the white house higher than day before of not being January 20, 2021.
Either Mueller or the Stress of the job will force him to resign; impeachment by Congress or those Big Macs will rid this man out of the oval office.
