by George Lakoff:

'An important reminder as the 2020 campaign gets started: When you repeat a false narrative for any reason, you spread it and strengthen it. This was a key lesson of "Don't Think of An Elephant" (2004). It's especially true in this era of social media. Why do so many influential people spend their entire day repeating false narratives? Why do they take the bait every time some conservative troll (including Donald) creates controversy?'

Have my doubts though. The media too, as in showing endless clips of things we've heard tRump say before. You're not checking hm by repeating his lies or showing them over and over. That is Lakoff's point.

...routinely post the latest Trumpian memes.

How many times is the Greatest Page peppered with the latest Trump tweet— verbatim with his smirking, Alpha male picture— followed by the poster’s outraged response.

Mission accomplished... for Trump.

7. Key takeaway: NEVER repeat conservatives' words. Ever! Reframe.

Never ever ever quote the president or any of his people.
If they lie - don’t repeat the lie; definitely not first.

Use a truth sandwich.
Truth first, then note the lie. Then truth again.

That means NEVER post on DU with the president’s words in your headline.
