A report from The Washington Post details how presidential endorsements have lost their prestige as brands seek not to be wrapped up in the Trump orbit.
It used to be that brands would love to get an endorsement from the president, Tim Calkins, a marketing teacher at Northwestern Universitys Kellogg School of Management told The Post. Now, if anything, I think these companies probably squirm a bit.
Calkins added, The silence is deafening. Everybody is very nervous about how the administration might respond.
Trump has routinely promoted his favorite American fast food brands and companies but they have been slow to engage back. The report noted that companies such as McDonalds, Burger King and Chick-fil-a were silent once Trump promoted their food from the White House.

(14,912 posts)I'd love to see Trump have a temper tantrum about McDonalds (even though they haven't said or done anything to deserve it), and then face the self-inflicted misery of denying himself the Big Macs he so desperately wants.

What's ironic is that he only ran for office to make money off of his cheap and tacky "brand" name. Even his own brand is losing money and people are removing his name from their buildings since it lowers the property value. Now even other "brands" are embarrassed to be affiliated with him. He is even too slimy/greasy for greasy fast food to embrace.
