The person nominated to be an ambassador is a career civil servant at State. The job requires a trip through the Senate for hearings. This is par for the course.

Jordan Karem is a Trump hanger-on. What qualifies him to be on the board of the Kennedy Center remains to be seen.

A lot of the nominations are of a "par for the course" nature. It's a formality. Ambassadors are nominated by the president. Many of them, even now, are career State employees. They might have never donated anything to anyone.

Thanks for writing.
