Trump's lethal aversion to reading

If you're reading this sentence, you've read more than the president has today.

Last month, The Washington Post reported that President Trump ignored "more than a dozen" intelligence briefings in January and February warning him of the coronavirus. They were in the President's Daily Brief, which the president doesn't read.

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro wrote a memo in January warning of "a full-blown coronavirus outbreak on U.S. soil." Trump said he didn't see it because "Peter sends a lot of memos," none of which he reads.

After failing to read about the coronavirus, Trump failed to respond to it. It's not a stretch to say that if the president read, thousands of lives might have been saved.

Trump clearly studied the “cliff notes.”

“Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler's collected speeches, 'My New Order', which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed.
. . .
[When asked whether he actually owned a copy], “Trump responded: “Who told you that?"

He went on to explain that it was "his friend Marty Davis from Paramount who gave me a copy of Mein Kampf, and he’s a Jew.”

Mein Kampf is dense, small print and over 900 pages. I understood that Trump didn't read Mein Kampf but a collection of Hitler's Speeches...which, I've been told, is a much easier read.

I am inclined to believe this distinction because of watching Trump in his rallies. He uses the same cadence, the same techniques and the same gestures. Actually his gestures remind me more of Mussolini than Hitler but the genre is the same.

Can anyone confirm this?

BTW Trump and company were told of the virus and the real possibility of a global pandemic
in November of 2019*. And that is when Trump and Kush-Turd invested in their own C-19
test kits and hydroxycholorquine. Trump owing China a shit load of money might have very well
contributed to his late and ill prepared response to C-19 too.

Given trump's well-known dislike of the written word, this report got me speculating on whether he would break with another tradition: the building of a presidential library. And, if he did build one, what form would it take, given some of his particular proclivities?

Then it hit me. How about as an add-on wing to the Mustang Ranch in Nevada? First, it would avoid any of the legal problems he would undoubtedly encounter in any other state. Second, in keeping with his "grab 'em by the..." mentality, it might take the form of an individual, private, pay-per-view screening for "discriminating gentlemen". Finally, it would be ideal for Melania as well. She'll be able to just walk to work.

These lazy, entitled white men were used to having someone else do all the work for them their entire lives. One just wanted to clear brush on his fake ranch and the other just wanted to go after every vulnerable woman he could con into being with him.

The modern day GOP has absolutely no scruples or morals. They enable people like these two to rise to the highest office in this land and then look the other way when they lie and ignore the rule of law because they've got their hands in the cookie jar too.

Trump's former National Economic Council director Gary Cohn allegedly wrote in an email, "Trump won't read anything — not one-page memos, not the brief policy papers; nothing. He gets up halfway through meetings with world leaders because he is bored."

The only information that interests Trump is information that affirms his self-image. He's rich, handsome, and popular — that's what he wants to hear, which is why he regularly says it himself.
