Is America in the Early Stages of Armed Insurgency?

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/09/america-insurgency-chaos-trump-violence.html

David Kilcullen is one of the world’s leading authorities on insurgencies. For decades he has studied them. As an infantry soldier in the Australian army and an adviser to the U.S. Army, he’s fought against them. His latest scholarly work has focused on their role in urban conflicts.

So when Kilcullen says that America is in a state of “incipient insurgency,” it’s worth sitting up, taking notice, and trembling just a little.

The official definition of an insurgency is the “organized use of subversion and violence to seize, nullify, or challenge political control” of an area. An “incipient insurgency” might be happening when “inchoate actions by a range of groups”—followed by organizing, training, acquisition of resources (including arms), and the buildup of public support—lead to “increasingly frequent” incidents of violence, reflecting “improved organization and forethought.”

I think its a little overblown ... For 1) Gun rotting militia in this country are pussies masquerading as dicks. Any sign of a real fight that actually requires putting your life up for a cause ... They will chicken out - Guaranteed !! Else they would have volunteered.. And those who have volunteered are loyal to this nation 2) There are no contiguous territories demarkating us over them ..There are no Red vs Blue States. ...its more like Red vs Blue zip codes... And even there ..We are all too mixed up.

and the subcontinent's muslims and hindus had no problem segregating after independence. so do not let that worry you.

they want a "boogaloo" race war, in which case the teams are color coded, i suppose.

maybe what we need is a mao style "cultural revolution," because i really can not think of any other wat ro fix trumpism.

They think of themselves as race heroes and wannabe spec ops dudes when they are not.

This does not mean that some of these fruitcakes watch Trump lose in Nov that they won't do a McVeigh.

I fully expect some backlash and lone wolf attacks, more than we have seen in the past or now.

Gun sales skyrocketed when the pandemic began. In PA we're seeing a serious uptick in gun violence. I don't suspect there will be mass uprisings but I fear gun violence in general will go up given more folks have access to them and economic stress easily transfers to general stress, which leads to more people acting out their aggressions using newly bought fire arms.
