'Result could be known today in Pennsylvania; win there would seal Biden victory.' Election Live, Nov. 5, 2020.
Pennsylvanias secretary of state said the commonwealths winner could be known as soon as today, and if Joe Biden captures the state, he would win the presidency. Counting continues in Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina. While Bidens campaign has continued to express confidence, President Trumps reelection campaign attempted to halt vote-counting in Pennsylvania and Michigan, sought a recount in Wisconsin and challenged the handling of ballots in Georgia.
The latest on vote counting in the states still in play
- Arizona: Bidens lead in the vote count narrowed to about 68,000 votes early Thursday. Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs said her state has just under 450,000 ballots left to count, and that we would have a "much more clear picture Friday. Maricopa County, the states largest jurisdiction, said it will release another round of counts around 9 p.m. Eastern time
- Georgia: Trumps lead in the vote count in Georgia slipped below 13,000 votes as of Thursday afternoon. The state has roughly 42,000 ballots left to count; an additional 8,900 requested overseas and military ballots may arrive by tomorrows deadline. Officials in Fulton County, where much of Atlanta is located, say that theyve finished counting and will upload the results soon. Democratic-leaning Chatham County, where Savannah is located, had the biggest outstanding ballot count, at 17,157.
- Nevada: New ballot counts were released starting at noon Eastern time. Bidens lead grew slightly there as new counts were tallied.
- North Carolina: Election officials said they will review about 41,000 provisional ballots from voters whose eligibility may be questioned, along with around 110,000 outstanding absentee ballots, according to the Charlotte Observer. They expect to finalize their count by Nov. 12. Biden is about 76,000 votes behind Trump.
- Pennsylvania: Trump maintained a lead of about 108,000 votes, but that was expected to shrink as more ballots were counted in heavily Democratic areas. Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar (D) said Thursday that it may be possible to know the states presidential winner as soon as tonight...

(3,493 posts)according the the PA Dept of State count. I think there's still 100k to 200k votes left to count in Philly. That's based on the 2016 vote totals and figuring there will be an extra 70k to 100k for 2020 over 2016.
GA may be done tonight. NV probably tomorrow or this weekend. I thought PA might flip tonight but I'm thinking maybe tomorrow or this weekend. Remember votes can still come in tomorrow so next week should be it.
Looking at 2020 versus 2016 it seems that voter participation was much higher this year. This may have skewed the poll results and explain why things were off again. I guess this is another example of Trump sucking the wind out of the room. Like him or hate him (I'm the later) he sure seems to be able to generate a crowd.
Two boys on a playground
Tryin' to push each other down
See the crowd gather 'round
Nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd
Black gold in a white flight.
Fill up the tank let's go for a ride
...
Sure like to feel some pride
But this place just makes me feel sad inside
Mother do you know where
Your kids are tonight...
