Going "all in" for the cult. For what?
Look Ive poured myself into a couple campaigns (Kerry, Obama, Tim Kaine 12) and you do get to a point where you are tired and excited and willing to do anything you can....within reason. Longer hours, one more canvass run, one more whatever but you know you are going home at the end of the day. The campaign isnt EVERYTHING.
How many people have gone all in and for what? The salon owner formerly of San Francisco (Pelosi), the postal employee in Pennsylvania, these two people in the certification board in Michigan. They all went all in and for what? Whats in it for them? as Trump once asked about the military.
I guess some of these could have been set-up. Maybe they are counting on GoFundMe money. I dont know but it seems like a big leap to take with your own future just on an extended 3rd party long shot (thats the best I could come up with).
Maybe it trying to show that you are a good loyal soldier. I dont know.

(8,052 posts)At some point your own self-interest should kick in and you ask yourself, is my business, or reputation, or freedom worth it for this guy? Of course it's not--but they're setting themselves on fire for him anyway. (I also think some of the political minions are getting bribed or offered positions in the GOP for their efforts, like the two pissant county-level clowns last night in Detroit.)

MAGAt grievance has boiled over. They are thoroughly convinced the inmates have taken over the prison. SO worked up and brainwashed to fight it out until the end (whatever THAT is). You can't underestiamte their commitment as wrong as we think it is. Very volatile and dangerous.

(182,604 posts)If I can, Id add that they want control over all the changes too. There were just too many too quickly - Obama, how being gay flipped in a very short amount of time, bathrooms, gender, No white men in charge, it was a lot in a short amount of time.

(2,248 posts)Progress to create a level playing field for all chaffes them so much. In their minds, they think they'll be forced to give up something they have (power, assets, values, beliefs) in order to elevate all.

I remember asking a rabid Scott Walker supporter why they cared so much for Walker when Walker didn't care about them. That person never typed a response back.
