Long live 'our' Gulf bastards

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/NE12Ak03.html

Life is a golden gift from Allah if you're a certified member of the Gulf Counter-Revolution Club (GCC), also known as the Gulf Cooperation Council; Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates can torture, kill, repress and demonize their own subjects - in full confidence the "master" will let you get away with it.

Just as the Sunni al-Khalifa dynasty in power in Bahrain is vowing, publicly, to keep arresting, tear-gassing, raiding their homes, confiscating their jobs and forcing pro-democracy protesters to live in non-stop fear, Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa is being hosted in Washington by the Barack Obama administration.

Prince Salman - who Bahraini propaganda sells as a "moderate" - showed up at the US State Department side-by-side with
Secretary of State Hillary "We came, we saw, he died" Clinton. Those who "die" are evil dictators of the Muammar Gaddafi variety; "our" bastards get to party in DC after being extended a red carpet welcome.

Is there any Arab Spring-related repression and killing going in Bahrain? According to Clinton, of course not; these are only "internal issues" - in her own words.

...in an election system that is far, FAR more honest and transparent than our own (no comparison really) need to be "instructed" as to who should control their government and their oil, and who gets a broadcast license to use their public airwaves--um, the sacredness of "corporate speech"--and who gets to form trade alliances, and with whom, and in how great and wonderful and "trickledown-ish" the privatization of everything is, and, well...

Those people need to be schooled by the State Department and the CIA on what democracy is all about. They need to learn what "human rights" really means.

The supporters of "dictators" in Bolivia and Ecuador, too, and Argentina, and Nicaragua, and all those countries in "our back yard" who have dared to elect Leftist governments, and dare to take social justice seriously, and dare to become prosperous at the same time that they are becoming fair...these people need our help to learn what government is all about...to learn what democracy is all about...to learn what their "human rights" are really worth, and how being dead is better than being red...and, and...

Pour some more billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars into educating these people in the blessings of stupidity and the wonders of absolute monarchy, of government by the sheiks of Araby, or, in the alternative, Corporate Rule. Then start on the Greeks! Little do they know of what democracy is all about, and of how, if taken seriously, it leads to "chaos" and no sheiks.

Um, !
