BEZOS PLAN: TO SERVE MAN
- Bezos has sold 100 million $ in tickets to those wanting to escape earth.
_____
Daily Kos, July 20, 2021. - Ed.
I watched Jeff Bezos accomplish spending a couple of minutes in space then return to earth to be greeted like a 21st century Christopher Columbus by some and, simultaneously, equally criticized by 21st century nattering nabobs of negativism...like me. We have become so conditioned to the rants by the last guy in the White House and his shitstorm of daily deranged dialogue, unimaginable prior to his 4-year reign, that truth has 2 versions and today for half of the U.S, it is as elusive as stopping a rolling ball before it disappears into a sewer drain.
Our politics have become like the residual at a sewer treatment plant after decaying in the hot sun. This winter the Covid 19 pandemic is predicted by some public heath officials to return to overwhelming levels because half of the U.S. population believes 600,000 dead is a hoax perpetrated by the media. The 2020 election theories of fraud have resulted in the possible destruction our democracy.
Due to climate change wildfires are at an all-time high and clean water supply at an all-time low, which has resulted in food shortages and rising prices. There are an estimated 600 million guns and 3 trillion rounds of ammo in the U.S. and no pending legislation to at least make it illegal to possess weapons of war. U.S. infrastructure is crumbling / has crumbled and the Senate cant get a referendum to just debate it.
The Corporatocracy has legislated and bought themselves and the U.S. a plantation economy. Workers children are not being educated and are being indoctrinated to survive by stimulus money as their parents cant afford day care because of the minimum wage laws in many states. All this with the backdrop of the richest man in the world taking a ride on his spaceship and telling the rest of us it is his hope to one day take all that is damaging our planet to another planet...

He had a long & distinguished career, mostly in TV.

Bezos refused to extend additional health benefits to his front line workers during the covid lock down. Told his Whole Foods workers to beg coworkers to share their medical time-off, etc.
Fucked Nuz supports this guy. Said earlier today "he's using his billions" for space travel. Maybe if he treated his employees better he wouldn't have billions to blow on his dick-shaped rocket.

(4,889 posts)5. And we thought "The Twilight Zone" was just a tv show.
I call it premonition.

dystopia. The horrors of the Nuclear Age clearly played a role.

I remember my reaction to that line when the episode premiered. Still gives me a chill whenever I hear it. Excellent delivery.
