Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has hinted at progress following talks with Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) about President Joe Biden's infrastructure and social spending bill.
Manchin and Sanders briefly spoke to reporters outside the U.S. Capitol Building on Monday and suggested they could be on the path to reaching an agreement over the proposed $3.5 trillion Build Back Better Act.
In a video shared to Twitter by NBC News' reporter Frank Thorp V on Monday, Sanders appeared to suggest the talks could be successful.

(12,539 posts)When the Democrats won the presidency and both houses of Congress, I celebrated the end of the Dark Ages of Republicanism. There is so much support for the bill from the Dems, Independents and even Republicans that it would surely pass in some form.
Now the bill, which would improve the lives of millions and millions of people -- including lifting children out of poverty -- is being actively sabotaged by a man whose state represents 0.1% of the population. What's wrong with this picture?
What little hope is left is dependent on the tenaciousness of Bernie Sanders. Go Bernie! May the Force be with you.
