Name and Shame White Christian Nationalism, the Ideology Behind Jan. 6
Democrats should insist that Republicans denounce this racist, undemocratic ideology as a danger to our countryand to Americans safety.

Democrats have an opportunity to serve the majority of the American people during the six investigative hearings into the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. But they will fail unless they name and shame the increasingly violent ideology of former President Donald Trumps acolytes: white Christian nationalism.
Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin has promised that the House select committees exhaustive findings from over 1,000 witnesses will blow the roof off the House by revealing concerted planning and premeditated activity by Trump, the White House, and MAGA allies (still) trying to overthrow a free and fair election.
However, in order to truly connect the dots for the American public, Democrats, and their two Republican fellow committee members, Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, have to put a label on the underlying white supremacist narrative that has now gone mainstream in the GOP.
Christian nationalism believes in the enduring and dangerous deep story that America is a special nation divinely favored by God and entrusted to white Christians as its sovereign protectors, in order to implement and spread the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. These Christian values and morals are allegedly under active threat and assault by invaderswho presently include feminists, LGBTQ+, Jews, people of color, Muslims, immigrants, and essentially anyone who opposes their proposed theocratic state.
In this worldview, America can only be made great again if we return to its previous natural order, in which white Christian patriarchy reigned supreme. Violence, as blessed and rationalized by a militarized reading of the Gospel and a belief in a warrior Jesus, is justified to take back the country by any means necessary. ..............(more)

The intersection of Dominion theology with right wing politics has created a movement within the Evangelical and Pentecostal/Charismatic branches of American Christianity that pushes churches to use Christian theology and doctrine to achieve political power rather than fulfilling the Christian mission and purpose apart from political power, which is what Christ and the apostles taught. It is anti-Christian in its philosophy and actions, willing to set aside core principles of the Christian faith to gain political power and influence.
So all of those conspiracy theories, especially the basis for the whole Q-Anon theory, and all of the "Christian nationalism", which I more accurately describe as "white Christian nationalism," the tendency toward white supremacist influence, attacks on Critical Race Theory and the distorted criticisms of Black Lives Matter, do find common political and philosophical ground in Christian Dominion theology. The impetus of the movement is toward what they claim will be taking America back to its Christian roots. America's representative democracy was an Enlightenment influence, not a Christian principle, so overthrowing democratic rule is a key point of the reconstructed republic. Those who would become the government would be those individuals who claimed to be "on God's side" as he reclaimed the United States for his own Kingdom, redeeming it from Satanic control. There would be no elections, no term limits and no recourse for redress of grievances.

More people need to be aware of this ideology.

Im an ex Christian Atheist myself but the Christs point is one must choose to be Christian not be compelled either as an individual and certainly not as a nation. Nowhere in scripture is there any reference to special privileges being bestowed upon a nation based on the number of believers.
