In what may be a first for U.S. presidential campaign advertisements, actress Elizabeth Banks is warning that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney would strip Planned Parenthood of funding and prevent some women from receiving treatment for conditions like migraines and a heavy flow.
Planned Parenthood was my health care provider when I didnt have insurance after I graduated from college, the Hunger Games star says in a video released on President Barack Obamas YouTube channel on Wednesday. Yes, I got birth control, but it was for my massive migraine headaches and my heavy flow. Yeah, Im on the record saying I have a heavy flow.
The services that they provide what is it? Ninety-five percent of them dont involve anything controversial. So for that little 5 percent that Mitt Romney decides he doesnt agree with, hes going to take away cancer screenings? Banks continues. What is he doing? Hes going to take away peoples access to health care close by. Were talking about working-class ladies who need health care.
President Obama has not compromised on womens rights and thats why President Obama needs to stay in office, she concludes.

A "heavy flow" can be close to a hemorrhage, cause anemia, & be debilitating

It'll be a mistake if he does, 'cause women know that losing a lot of blood is serious.

They seem incapable of understanding anything about women's health. It is sad we have to have this discussion about women's health care.
Good on Ms. Banks.

This is right up his fat wheelhouse.
Wish I could bet this on Intrade. I could make a few bucks.

Their husbands know this too - it can be scary. Women know, and sort of stick together on this because it's no laughing matter. I think women will hate him even more if he mocks this issue.

I really believe they are so tone-deaf on this issue that they will do the stupid thing. Again.

And so women must suffer.
