Gun Nuts to Build 2,000 Acre Citadel in Idaho’s American Redoubt

Gun Nuts to Build 2,000 Acre Citadel in Idaho’s American Redoubt

We’ve all heard of gated communities. We’ve all heard about the Second Amendment. Have you ever wondered what happens when you put the two together? How about a fortified community? That’s the latest right-wing tactic.

CNS News reports that, ” A group of like-minded patriots, bound together by pride in American exceptionalism, plan on building an armed community to protect their liberty.”

Notice the keywords used:

American exceptionalism

armed community

liberty

Yes, the worst elements of the Second and Tenth Amendments have come together in the creation of a monstrous American afterbirth.

According to CNS,

The group, named Citadel, intends to purchase 2,000 to 3,000 acres for the project in western Idaho. The community will comprise of 3,500 to 7,000 families of patriotic Americans who “voluntarily choose to live together in accordance with Thomas Jefferson’s ideal of Rightful Liberty.”

Their first problem is there's nowhere in Benewah County to build that thing unless (maybe not even then) they plan on clearing lots of forested land. Second problem is there's only farming on the reservation, where they can't build. Plus, the main crops are wheat and bluegrass.

This is like the cartoon about the day after Atlas Shrugged when they realize no one in Galt's Gulch brought any food.

The decisive battle of Cesar's Gaul-campaign. The Gauls, led by Vercingetorix, holed up against the Romans in a heavily defended fortress.

The Gauls expected a massive Roman onslaught. Every day they readied themselves for war and put on war-paint.
What did Cesar do? His army built their own fortifications (mainly tranches), completely surrounding the fortress, and simply waited for them to run out of food.
In the end, it was the Gauls who attacked first.
It was a pitched battle, but in the end the gaulic freedom-fighters were defeated by the disciplined and battle-hardened war-machine that was the Roman Army.

Telephone/internet? Cable TV? Garbage disposal and sewage management? Clothing and other basic needs?-- What person or persons would actually be in charge? Who would residents go to if they had a problem? I know there will be a huge vault for everyone to store their gold coins, but who is in charge of that? How will people get around the compound, other than walking?

Of course, I should have asked from the start: Who in fuck's name would pay for all of this?

Are their any contigency plans if TSHTF before Citadel is up and running? For example, if a person purchases a lease on either a house or a lot, and TSHTF before anything had been built, etc. would they be able to bug-out to the land already purchased and meet-up with others? As I write this, reports are coming in about a mass school shooting at an elementary school in Newton, Conn; 18 dead. DHS is getting so desperate that they are starting to kill our children. I don't think we have time to wait on Citadel being completed before TSHTF.

When Gun Enthusiasts refer to a "safe queen," they mean a firearm that they don't use with any regularity, i.e., a gun that stays stashed in their gun safes for long periods of time (generally a year or more) without being fired. Not nearly as salacious a definition as I was hoping for, but there you go.

Full disclosure: I guess pretty much all my guns are "safe queens." Suits me.
