CNN Op/Ed: Santorum wants to impose 'Judeo-Christian Sharia'

Santorum wants to impose 'Judeo-Christian Sharia'

"Santorum One" pushes for less government regulation for corporations and shrinking the federal government. You may or may not agree with these positions, but they are both mainstream conservative fare.

Then there's "Santorum Two." This Santorum wants to impose conservative Christian law upon America. Am I being hyperbolic or overly dramatic with this statement? I wish I were, but I'm not.

Plainly put, Rick Santorum wants to convert our current legal system into one that requires our laws to be in agreement with religious law, not unlike what the Taliban want to do in Afghanistan.

Santorum is not hiding this. The only reason you may not be aware of it is because up until his recent surge in the polls, the media were ignoring him. However, "Santorum Two" was out there telling anyone who would listen.

on the program "To The Contrary" hosted by Bonnie Erbe, she was front and center with the issue. As the first piece discussed on the show, which looks at issues from women's perspectives, she brought up the fact that he's solidly in favor of letting each state decide whether or not it wants to ban any form of birth control. Even Genevieve Wood, the reich wing shill from The Heritage Foundation was trying to backpedal away from that one.

This is an issue that is ripe to hit Santorum on. While there are sizable groups that nominally oppose the use of birth control for their own members, there's a consensus in this country that they shouldn't force adherence to their beliefs on others.

They want a candidate who is crazy but does not appear to be crazy when he/she faces the mainstream media.

Bachmann clearly was not that person.

Santorum has had less mainstream exposure. Yeah, DU is well-educated when it comes to his "resume." The average middle-American voter is not.

Remember John McCain's brief alliance with televangelist John Hagee?

Remember how word got out that Hagee considered the Catholic Church to be "the Whore of Babylon?"

Remember how that resulted in McCain IMMEDIATELY distancing himself from Hagee?

THAT is what the evangelicals fear.

They want a guy in the Oval Office who THINKS like Hagee, but that's not immediately apparent to the people who vote him / her into office.

I think the evangelicals' fascination with Santorum is largely based on the fact that he is crazy enough to qualify as their man, and the skeletons in his closet are still pretty well hidden from the masses. That's been changing. That's what will sink his crazy ass and his ambitions along with it.

Have we all forgotten about C-street house and The Family????

I hope not.

Here's a debate question I'd like to hear from the audience:

"Are you a member of "The Family"? And if you cannot answer yes or no, why is that? And if "yes", when it comes to loyalty to the country or the Family, which will you chose?"

This is Hagee's crowd. They're very creepy and dangerous. Their version of Christianity is certainly not pro-peace.
