Proof That Obamacare 'Rate Shock' Is An Ugly Insurance Company Deception. FORBES

'Now, The Urban Institute—an organization so clearly bi-partisan that even the most suspicious partisan would encounter extreme difficulty making a case for bias—is out with a study that states that the ‘rate shock’ argument is “unfounded”, particularly when applied to the millions of Americans in the individual market.'

One of those, "Well, I'm not paying, so I don't care" arguments that indicates an extreme self-centeredness.

It's not saying there won't be a rate shock.

Just that those what would be hit would be covered by Medicaid, so they'd miss it; or they'd get Federal subsidies, so they don't personally have to pay the rates that are charged.

I guess that means since they don't pay, nobody pays.

Chalk it up to a "commons" expense. If it's at the expense of the commons, then, well, it's not really an expense.

Can't discriminate for having pre existing conditions...or be capped for excessive HC expenses...Many CEOs have million dollar salaries right now for denying coverage...taking up to 30-40% of your premiums in profit but now they must use 80% of premium for actual HC expense...having only 20% to use for overhead. Medicare operates with 3% overhead costs...which is why we need Medicare for all...to stop the profiteering from our HC. Private Health care ins. have spent millions trying to repeal Obamacare and now you know why...minimized profits.

If the insurance company spends less than 80 percent of premiums on medical care it must rebate the excess. For large group plans (the kind provided by companies that employ 50 people or more), health insurance companies must spend 85 percent of the premiums on medical care.
