American Dick Funnell helped found Verbo Ministries in the Central American country. He said Gen Rios Montt has been 'maligned'.
A preacher with ties to Latin American dictator Efrain Rios Montt has set up a chapel in rural Wales.
American Dick Funnell moved here around eight years ago after spending years in Guatemala where the church he helped found, Verbo Ministries, enlisted General Montt as “academic director” of its school.

Mr Funnel, 65, who now runs the website Wales Awakening, said of Montt: “He came to a bible study through another friend who was part of the church.
“I know the man intimately and he loves the Lord and he has been maligned.”
