"It’s too early to consider a President Elizabeth Warren, but..."
From the Raleigh NC News & Observer:
Its too early to consider a President Elizabeth Warren, but it would be good if the freshman U.S. senator from Massachusetts and scourge of the financial industry could set the Obama administrations priorities for a few months.
Maybe then Americans would start to see action on two big gaps in the presidents record. No. 1 is the failure to vigorously prosecute the villains behind the financial crisis that blew up the U.S. housing market and vaporized many Americans home equity, savings and jobs. No. 2 is the failure to put in place the regulations and oversight needed to keep it from happening again.

Despite the progress weve made since 2008, the biggest banks continue to threaten the economy, Warren said in a statement announcing the new bill. The four biggest banks are now 30 percent larger than they were just five years ago, and they have continued to engage in dangerous, high-risk practices that could once again put our economy at risk.
That risk needs the tough approach to oversight that Warren is not afraid to advocate.

(90,061 posts)We will never be allowed a candidate like Warren. And even if she should sneak in, they own the voting machines.

(19,288 posts)And I don't feel that viseral bristling of my hackles being stood up as I do when Ms Hilary, is mentioned. This seems more like a possibility than an inevitable pronouncement of like it or lump it.
Dammit, I still love Hilary and Bill, but my central nervous system clicks into revolt because it feels some authoritarian demand, that it must revolt against. Ok. I'm revolting.

(63,890 posts)The combination of Obama and Biden on the ticket in 2008 was a real winner: not only in the fact that it was a FIRST for African Americans but also in having the savvy and experience of Biden and the vision of Obama. Should we look to that when considering a run by Elizabeth Warren? The dream team I came up with was a Warren/O'Malley ticket. FIRST woman president and a terrific young (and attractive) governor.
Of course, I am a realist and I know that as things stand now, we are looking to a run by Hilary Clinton. Her stint as SOS and former Senator puts her in an undeniably superior position. If Christie is her opponent, it will be interesting. His latest outbreak of smashmouth reveals something in his personality that he can't seem to control. At least I am hoping he can't get it into control...
