Angel Cordero is the person that kicked down the door for Amanda Berry

There was also another interview on CNN this evening and Angel said HE kicked the door,
and that Charles didn't show up until Amanda was outside of the house.

CLEVELAND - Now-Internet sensation Charles Ramsey was not the only person to help break down the door of a Seymour Avenue house, freeing three missing women.

“I helped her and I was first,” Angel Cordero said in Spanish.

On Monday, Ramsey, Cordero and other neighbors in a west side neighborhood of Cleveland helped Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight escape. The women had disappeared in separate cases about a decade ago.

“Ramsey arrived after she was outside with the girl,” Cordero said. “But the truth who arrived there, who crossed the street, who came and broke the door, it was me.”

Wintel Tejeda, who lives across the street from the suspect’s house, said others helped and when Berry came out, they gave her a phone.

Man helps missing women escape from Cleveland home
Angel Cordero is main witness in missing Cleveland women investigation after he helps Amanda Berry escape from home

When Angel Cordero heard Amanda Berry frantically screaming for help he jumped into action.

"I go by the door. I said, 'What happened?' She said, 'I've been kidnapped for 10 years, call the police,'" Cordero said.

His heart was racing when he got to the door. He was afraid, not knowing if he was in danger himself.

Cordero started kicking the door. He was able to pry it open just enough for Berry to escape.

"When Amanda came out, she said, 'I need to call the police. He's coming back. He went to McDonald's for food, but he coming back. I need the police,'" said Cordero.

I think Charles told the truth. He didn't know the other man's name.

4. I think Charles Ramsey fibbed, and Angel is telling the truth.

Ramsey’s first domestic violence charge came in February 1997. He entered a no contest plea a year later and was found guilty of the count by a Cleveland Municipal Court judge. While waiting to be sentenced, Ramsey was again arrested for domestic violence.

At the time of Ramsey’s second collar, in July 1998, he was already the subject of an arrest warrant issued in connection with his failure to appear for a court hearing in the first domestic violence case. As a result, Ramsey was jailed for violating terms of his release on bond. Ramsey subsequently entered a no contest plea to the second case and was, again, found guilty by a Cleveland judge.

The domestic violence cases apparently were consolidated for sentencing in August 1998, when Ramsey was ordered to serve six months in jail, placed on five years probation, and directed to attend a domestic violence counseling program.

to shove a microphone in his face?

11. You think Charles Ramsey lied because of what's in that article?

And Angel Cordero is telling the truth because he says so?

Angel is coming out calling Charles a liar.

However, Charles has no reason to lie, as he has said he's not interested in the ransom and wants it to go to the victims (have you even watched this interview, yet?).

Have you heard Angel say the same thing?

13. Why is his past mistake relevant?

He did a great thing and all reports have his co-workers saying that he is a great guy that looks to help others.
I was in a bad relationship back in 97’ and was arrested for domestic violence. I had to take anger management classes and pay a fine… I got out of that situation to fine a good woman 3 years later and get married to her 2 years after that, and we’ll be married 11 years this November.
So if I pull a child from a burning building should my mistake from 1997 be dangled out there as a way to disparage the good deed that I did?

9. I was struck yesterday by a seeming inconsistency in Charles's story

He said that he saw from across the street that she was fighting like crazy to get out of the house, but he also said that when he tried to open the door it could only be opened a few inches and then he knew something was wrong when a little white girl ran up and hugged him.

Now I'm not saying that it can't all be resolved, but it seemed odd to me at the time.

It’s like people are trying to pit one against the other; with the goal of tearing down Charles Ramsey. And DU is the last place I would expect this.
