Ben Makiewicz : War on Leaks? Government Secretly Grabs AP Phone Records

Published on May 13, 2013
"The Justice Department secretly obtained two months of telephone records of reporters and editors for the Associated Press in what the news cooperative's top executive called a "massive and unprecedented intrusion" into how news organizations gather the news."*

The AP has revealed that the government perfomred an intrusive search on phone lines- even personl ones- associated with the AP. Why? Well, it couldn't have anything to with a story broken about the govenrment, nor the AP's reporters trying to keep their sources safe. Ben Makiewicz breaks down this blatant intrusion.
