Related: About this forumProof - Portland lied about OWS evictions
Published on May 23, 2013
The Partnership for Civil Justice Fund has obtained documents that prove OWS protesters encamped in Terry Schrunk Plaza in Portland, Oregon, were evicted for political and business reasons - not for the reasons the city stated, which were health and safety concerns. The documents also shed light on police activity in Boston and across the nation in terms of the OWS movement in general. The Resident (aka Lori Harfenist) talks about the issue.

OP
It wasn't the PaulBots that caused coordinated sweeps and dismantling of the OWS camps.

(6,942 posts)1. OWS Biggest Issue Was Killing The Movedment From....
....within. Yes the city and business leaders may have wanted them out but that wasnt the biggest thing that brought the momentum to a virtual crawl.
What actually sucked the energy and focus away from them was the RON PAUL movement. This movement stifled the discussion of the banks and diverted it to recruiting homeless people to move in to the camps. The Paul invasion would not allow any talk of Krugman style economics to be discussed, they also caused gridlock with process after process during the GA's.
The movement was on its way to being reduced to what it is now within a few weeks after it started. And all due reality the camps were not realistically sustainable.
My apologies if I have offended someone, I warned the groups in my area they needed to squelch the Paul people who were running rampant.

I could be convinced that they diluted the message. But I don't believe they were the cause of nationwide sweeps of the OWS encampments.
Goldman-Sachs, Bank of America, etc.. are much more likely.
