Equal pay law rolled back in Wisconsin

&feature=youtu.be

Battle-tested progressive State Rep. Mark Pocan voted against a bill that will roll back a Wisconsin law to allow victims of the equal pay for equal work law to sue for punitive damages. Since the law was passed in Wisconsin in 2009, our state has risen in the national rankings from 36th in terms of equal pay for women to 24th. Still, women earn just $.78 for every dollar a man of equal qualifications earns. That's why our shared progressive values alone are not enough. We must fight to restore equity in Wisconsin.

Pocan has led the fight for progressive change for nearly two decades, six years as a member of the Dane County Board and 14 years as a State Representative. Pocan was the lead author of the Compassionate Care for Rape Victims Act, which he helped pass through a then-Republican legislature. He knows change doesn't happen in a vacuum, especially with the GOP in power, and that's why his video blog is dedicated to spreading the word about the hot topics facing Wisconsin.
